Humans

The four Pevensie children and Prince Caspian are the best known: Peter Pevensie – The High King Peter the Magnificent; Susan Pevensie – Queen Susan the Gentle; Edmund Pevensie – King Edmund the Just; and Lucy Pevensie – Queen Lucy the Valiant.

There were also about a dozen unnamed humans from our world (six pirates and their women) who repopulated the unpeopled land of Telmar and founded the race of the Telmarines. As Aslan says, they accidentally found in a cave "one of the chinks or chasms between that world and this" (i.e. between our world and Narnia), and he adds, "There were many chinks or chasms between worlds in old times, but they have grown rarer. This was one of the last: I do not say the last." So quite possibly others came to Narnia from our world as well.

Dwarfs

Dwarfs are native to Narnia. They are called Sons of Earth by Aslan, as opposed to humans, who are called Sons of Adam or Daughters of Eve. Dwarfs exist in at least two varieties: Black Dwarfs and Red Dwarfs, distinguished by the colour of their hair. While many Red Dwarfs are kind and loyal to Aslan, Black Dwarfs appear to be more selfish and hostile. Dwarfs appearing in the legends are male and live together in communities, although they are known to mingle with and reproduce with humans.

In keeping with their character as sons of Earth, the dwarfs are skilled and prolific smiths, miners, and carpenters. In battle they are renowned as deadly archers.

Talking Animals

Led by Aslan, Narnia is full of talking animals. If you wish to apply for a character as an animal, bear in mind that your character will have to be on Aslan's side unless you have permission from Aslan himself.

Many of the animals found in our world can also be found in Narnia. In addition, there are talking versions of most of these animals. When Aslan breathed upon the first animal pairs, some not only gained thought and speech, but changed in size as well. Smaller animals (rodents, birds and small mammals) are larger than their non-talking relatives and larger animals are slightly smaller. Talking Beasts can be divided into four main categories: Avian, Hoofed, Mammal, and Reptile. There are no talking fish or insects, though there are aquatic Beasts.

Avian - Birds
Hoofed - horse, zebra, donkey, cattle/bison, rhinoceros, camel, hippopotamus, goat, pig, sheep, giraffe, deer, tapir, antelope, and gazelle.
Mammal - Dogs, cats, bears, etc.
Reptile - lizards, etc.

Other inhabitants of the Narnian world are creatures that include..

Boggles - a household spirit which causes things to disappear.

Centaurs - a race of creatures composed of part human and part horse.

Dragons - The physical description and supposed abilities of the creature vary immensely according to the different cultures in which it appears. However, the unifying feature of almost all interpretations is it being a serpentine or otherwise reptilian monster (or at least possessing a serpentine/reptilian part or trait), and often possessing magical or spiritual qualities. Although very rarely seen, if you do happen to see one...you wont stay alive to tell the tale.

Dryads - are tree nymphs. Although very shy.

Earthmen or gnomes - characterized by its extremely small size and subterranean lifestyle. Gnomes are traditionally thought of as being small, bearded and wearing pointed, colourful, conical hats. They live in natural areas close to the Earth and care for wildlife. They are more benevolent than other such folkloric creatures like goblins.

Fauns - place-spirits of untamed woodland. They have horns and both resemble goats below the waist, humans above.

Giants - monsters of human appearance but prodigious size and strength.

Griffins - with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle. Loyal to Aslan, they are good for 'drop in' attacks.

Hags - a wizened old woman, or a kind of fairy or goddess having the appearance of such a woman. Hags are often seen as malevolent, but may also be one of the chosen forms of shapeshifting deities.

Incubi - an incubus is a demon in male form who is mischevious and a seductive creature. Known to seduce women to reveal information out of them.

Maenads - They were known as wild, insane women who could not be reasoned with. The Maenads are entranced women, wandering under the orgiastic spell of Dionysus through the forests and hills.

Minotaurs - a creature that was part man and part bull.

Naiads - a type of nymph who presided over fountains, wells, springs, streams, and brooks. They are distinct from river gods, who embodied rivers, and the very ancient spirits that inhabited the still waters of marshes, ponds and lagoon-lakes.

Crinaeae (fountains)
Limnades or Limnatides (lakes)
Pegaeae (springs)
Potameides (rivers)
Eleionomae (marshes)

Ogres - is a large, cruel and hideous humanoid monster.

Winged Horses - a winged horse.

Phoenix, Satyrs - A phoenix is a mythical bird with a tail that is beautiful gold and red plumage. At the end of its life-cycle the phoenix builds itself a nest of cinnamon twigs that it then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix arises. The new phoenix is destined to live, usually, as long as the old one. In some stories, the new phoenix embalms the ashes of the old phoenix in an egg.

Sea People (mermen) - male legendary creatures who are human from the waist up and fish-like from the waist down. They are less commonly known than their female counterparts, mermaids. Although they enjoy their liquid surroundings, they are able to walk on water. From dawn to dusk they can walk on land. If found on land after the sun goes down then they turn to dust. Although there is a special potion to were they can stand above water for 24 hours. It is rare though.

Sea Serpents - a mythological sea monster either wholly or partly serpentine.

Spectres - a phantom, apparition, or ghost, or an unreal(scary) appearance. Spectres are usually imbued with dark magic, or have the ability to perform it.

Sprites - a petite fairy that lives in the deep woods. They are kind and a bit mischevious.

Star People - Originally stars they have come down to earth and taken human form. They can leave whensever they wish and legend has it that they can grant one wish to their true love.

Unicorns - unicorn is sometimes that of a horse differing only in the horn on its forehead. They are gentle but can be fierce if messed with.

Werewolves - humans with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf. They are aggresive and hard to handle.

Witches - known to be good and/or evil they are humans with the ability to perform magic. Although all have the power to cast cantations as spells and brew potions, each one has a unique power that fits their personality. Some have the ability to make the potion for sea people to walk on land.

Others

All gods and goddesses are under a treaty with eachother. To protect and watch over Narnia. They have an inner circle and they council the laws and issues of the land. In order to protect them the most is by moving down to Narnia in human form.

The River god - god of the rivers of Narnia

Bacchus - god of wine

Father Christmas - gift-bringing figure of Christmas.

Father Time - a personification of time. He is usually depicted as an elderly bearded man, dressed in a robe, carrying an hourglass or other timekeeping device.

Pomona - the goddess of fruit trees, gardens and orchards.
